"An utterly unique centrepiece for our home"

"Such a lovely surprise - that picture holds such good memories"

"Gideon is a phenomenally talented one-of-a-kind artist"

"It is as unique as she is"

" Having commissioned other brilliant pieces from Gideon, I asked him to interpret a treasured picture from our wedding day with his amazing woodworking technique. The outcome was even better than we'd hoped for. His piece perfectly captures that memorable moment right after signing the register and is an utterly unique centrepiece for our home. We are forever grateful - thank you! "

- Nimesh

" We received our sculpture as a wedding gift for our wedding. It was such a lovely surprise as that picture holds such good memories from a really memorable trip. The piece has been in several places in our house and works on all colour walls. We love it at the moment as the 3D really comes off the wall and is so recognisable as us. We love it. These are great gifts for people and something different than a picture or drawing. "

- Karl and Matt Handley-Jones

" Not one person has walked into my house and not commented on the incredible wooden sculpture that Gideon made bespoke as a unique piece of art/keepsake. Gideon is a phenomenally talented one-of-a-kind artist. "

- Candice

" The sculpture of my daughter is outstanding. Each time I look at it, I see her walking in the Lake District and remember taking the photograph you based the piece on. It is as unique as she is and has become a talking point when guests visit. You have a remarkable talent. "

The finished product

Each portrait sculpture is designed by hand from your photo with pen and paper. The image is turned into a digital file for cutting by CNC machine using a high density fibre board which is black throughout and specially designed for intricate cutting work.

'Standard' sculptures are 70 cm tall and 9mm thick. 'Large' sculptures are 110cm tall and 18mm thick.

There are two colour finishes available: Black or Birch.

Uploading your image

Your image doesn’t need to be high resolution, however composition is really important. An ideal photo should show all the people full bodied with no cropped heads, hands or feet. Selfies are not your friend here!

Ideally everyone should be grouped together without spaces in between. Although it is possible to connect separated people with joining lines which are useful for more candid photos. But the lines only have structural rather than artistic value.

Don’t worry though, if there are any complications with your photo I’ll be in touch to discuss the options.

FAQs

The artist hand-draws the design from your photo with pen and paper. The image is then turned into a digital file and cut by CNC machine using a high density fiber board that is specially designed for intricate cutting work.

It typically takes a few weeks to create and deliver the sculpture, depending on the complexity of the design and the current demand for the artist's work.

The sculpture will be carefully packaged and shipped to your address via a reliable courier service.

Yes, you can contact the artist to discuss any modifications you would like to make to the design of your sculpture.

The sculptures are available in two sizes: 70cm tall and 9mm thick, and 110cm tall and 18mm thick.

The sculptures are black throughout, as this color is best suited for the intricate cutting work.

The sculptures are made from high density fiber board, which is strong and durable. However, they are still susceptible to damage if handled roughly, so it is important to handle them with care.

Installation is simple, with just one included nail needed to hammer into the wall and a centrally balanced point to rest the sculpture on. For wide pieces, a second nail may be required, in which case the first nail should be hammered in, one side of the piece hung, and the position for the second nail marked.

The packaging uses the waste from the cutting process to protect the sculpture, and is then sandwiched between two wooden sheets and wrapped in cardboard. The packaging is not specifically designed to be environmentally friendly, but it can be easily recycled after use.
